Walking in a Winter Wonderland

So, we got our first official snowstorm of the season! It was great! I don't have any totals yet for how much snow we got but I would guess about 8-10 inches.

Haley woke up this morning to lot's of snow and snow falling all day long. This is what she looked like after she got back from a sleigh ride with daddy around the neighborhood.

Snow was light and fluffy and Haley's next door neighbor came over to play twice today. They had fun running in the snow and making snow angels.

This was a picture of Kori after I brought her in from the snow excursion. She was much happier being inside where she could move her body freely instead of being stuffed into a snow suit.
This is the point at which Kori had had enough of the snow and wanted to go in.
Sorry for the duplicate picture here but I can't seem to figure out how to remove it. Kori was pretty much stranded wherever we set her down and she did not like that. So, Daddy kept her company.

Here is Daddy showing Kori the snow. Too bad she has no appendiges to actually feel it ;) Gotta love those "straight jacket" snowsuits!

This is Kori's first time out in the snow to play and Daddy is definetly enjoying it more than her.

We thought Kori looked very stumpy in this picture. Poor thing. That snowsuit gets the job done but at what cost? She looks really uncomfortable here in this picture.

Here is a look at what our street and neighborhood looked like at around 4pm today.

And here is a look down the street. I was a little annoyed at PennDOT for not plowing our roads today. They stuck to the main roads and highways for good reason. It was snowing so hard and fast that it wouldn't matter if they plowed our street. It would be snow covered within the hour. Kind of pointless if you ask me. So, this is what they mean by snowed in. The temperature didn't get above freezing today and probably won't tomorrow. So, guess what that means...no church tomorrow. At least for our ward which starts at 9am. We will probably try to go to a later Ward if they are going to be having their meetings. It just doesn't feel like Christmas without church the week of Christmas.

Check out the roof! Plenty of snow up there! We are expected to have a White Christmas b/c it is going to stay cold and the snow will stick around till then. We might get snow on Christmas which would be nice but not if we are planning on driving anywhere.

I love this picture of our hedges showing the snow level.

And here is my beautiful little girl who had a wonderful time playing in the snow today. To see her so happy to be out and playing in the "Winter Wonderland" was a great sight to see. I think she enjoyed her day at home with Mommy, Daddy and Kori. We had hot chocolate with marshmallows and even received a personal phone call from Santa Claus! One word to sum up this snowy winter day is Awesome. We hope you all look forward to this time of year as much as we do. Remembering Christ's birth and knowing what humble beginnings he came from always touchs my heart in a special way. I am easily brought to tears thinking and hearing of it. Remember that Christmas is not just about the gifts but about our Savior's birth into this world. What a miracle and great blessing we have to celebrate that event. We send love, hugs, prayers and Merry Christmas's to you all!

Love the pics we were wondering how much snow you were getting. Haley and Zac look like they are having a blast. Kori looks a bit perplexed. I am glad you have house pictures too, that puts it all in perspective. Enjoy and stay safe!
